ABout table maintainance

Hi,

we have requirement to add new field in configuration table tvkgg .

and after that i need to create table maintainance for it.

i have added new field using append structure in this table .

but i don't know the step for table maintainace .

and i also check like there is one table maintainace view in sm30 for this table.

so do i need to create new table maintainance for it. Is it the same step as we create ztable maintainance .

Hello,

In se11 follow the menu path.

Utilities ~~> Tabl. Main. Gen~~->

Delete button will be there . CLick it. It will delete the old Tab. Mai for the table.

For u will see create icon button

Click it.

Give all the old values like Func. Gruop, screen number similar to old table main.

Yes, creating the table maintenance view should take the same steps as for creating a ztable maintenance view. But since one already exists for this table, you will need to delete the existing maintenance view before you can create a new one.

You cannot do it like that. If you already modified the table, then you also need to modifed the view V_TVKGG and add this new field to this view and then go to table maintenance generator of this view, in the menu 'Generated Objects--> Change'.

then i need to create maintainance for it .

Go to SE11 and modify the view V_TVKGG to add the field to the view.

Then in the menu, go to 'Utilities~~> Table Maintenance Generator' which will take you to the table maintenance generator screen. In the menu there, 'Generated Objects~~> Change' and follow the instructions.

I tried to modify v_tvkgg . it ask for access key.

i also tried to create maintainance for modified table .

but it is also not working .

it did,t alow me to create table maintainace when i click on create button

in table maintainace screen.

Please give me some solution .

Hi Jack,

If you want to modify for SAP Standards(V_TVKGG) ,then we need to have access key,I think better to talk senior guys at your company since it is SAP Standard Object.

otherway you can add new field TVKGG using append structure and then you can create table maintaince ..

Note : when you use append structure - field name should start with ZZ* and should save under package or development class.

I did same . i have created append structure .

with filed name zz* .

But now when i tried to create table maintainance for this table .

it ask for access key.

The steps which i did :

added append structure in tbale.

activated table.

se11-> table maintainance generator->

specified function group

screen number

click on create

NOW It ask for access key...

Yes ,you need to provide access key for SAP Standard Object ..

even if you use append structure (here does not required ) ,when you maintain table maintaince for SAP Standard table ( need to have access key),talk to senior guy,if it is functionality requirement ,then they will provide..
