Idoc conversion

We have a scenario where a partner SAP system generates IDocs which trigger idocs via XI in our SAP system to create inbound deliveries.

We need to have a back up plan in the scenario of XI server being down for any reason. How can we approach this problem where I need to pick the data from partner generated idoc via ABAP conversion program to post Inbound deliveries in my SAP system?

Hi Sriram,

it is not advisable to write your own code to get the IDOC data and process the same.

I never heard of such requirement. Not sure if it can be done. Better you can create a direct connection between two SAP system and use the same when XI is down.

Hi Sriram,

could you give some details regarding:

- which SAP system do you use as sender and receiver (ECC, BW, ...)

- which IDocs are you using from the sender and which Idoc must be received in the receiver?

These are necessary to analyze your scenario and give you a valid hint.
