modify purchase order number

In the BBPPO01 transaction, you can modify the PO description but not the PO number. I want to make this field possible to modify... I did everything in the template 2200 (ie :an input field), but i don't know what i have to change in the abap program...

Did you ever heard about <i>key</i> fields? The PO number is uniquely given from a number range - you can't change that.

Hi Giraud,

What you are trying to do is possible but not the way you want it. You can't update an already extisting PO to make it some other PO ( different number but every thing else same or almost ) .

This is known as copying ( not updating ) of Purcahse Order to a new PO and then deletion of older one.

if you are aware of whatever you are trying to achieve then you need to first create a copy of the existing purchase order may be by using BAPI_PO_CREATE and then delete the original PO.

But first make sure that you know what are you doing .
