Hi myself is ABAPer and would like to know about Netweaver. What it is all about. What type of programming is there. And how much it is different from the normal ABAP.

Hi,

in netweaver u need not write much code.ther u will just select the tbale structres,fields and all.the system will generate the code neccessary for that.JAVA classes will be created.its a combination of JAVA and ABAp.that is very much user friendly.

Netweaver is a basically Integration tool to integrate for applications across the industry .we do configure the system landscape for integration in distributed Environment in SAP.

It utilizes open standards to enable integration with information and applications from almost any source or technology.

ABAP & JAVA are integrated in Application platform.

Hi Abhay,

When you mention Netweaver, its a big bucket as it contains XI, ABAP, BI, etc. If you are talking about programming in Netweaver ABAP, there are a lot of changes in the syntax as you need to take care of keeping your code compatible with Unicode syntax. (ECC 6.10 and above)

You will also need to take care of certain changes in logic. For more information, check out the help section on how Unicode has changed the way you program in ABAP. Sending you the link.
