Copying a Data Element and changing its Description

Hi,

I am creating a Search Help for a ZTable.

Fields in ZTABLE are

AA CHAR 10

BB CHAR 18

CC CHAR 18.

Now, while defining Search Help, I need to give the data-element of these fields which are included in my Search Help.

Since, there are many data-element with Char 10 and 18. If I use any of them, then while executing the search help, the Description/Heading in the Search Help appears as it is defined in the data-element.

Is there any way, that I copy the data-element and change the Description.

or I need to create a new data element.

Hi priyanka,

u have to create new dataelement with the same domain to change description.I dont think there is any other way.

Well the description of an standard data element can be changed.It done in t-code CMOD.On the menu you will find GOTO~~>Text Enhancments~~->Keywords-->Change.

Hi Priyanka,

i beleive your data elements will be customized, right? then it is possible to change the description with out copying. Just open table in change mode and double click on the data element then change what ever u want the nactivate it.
