what is exactly the use of SLIN.

Hi,

SLIN is used for Extended program syntax check for ABAP program which include some more checks other than the normal syntax checks

SLIN - It checks all syntax which is not available in normal syntax errors..

suppose if you define tables name,variable name unnessary,then it shows in SLIN Transaction..

Try to use SCII also from 5.00 Version..

Hi Subhasis,

SLIN transaction is for Extended check for ABAP program's syntax. You can go to any of the programs in SE38 transaction and from menu PROGRAM->CHECK->EXTENDED PROGRAM CHECK, you will be taken to the extended check screen. The selection screen has lots of checkboxes for the different types of checks to be performed on ABAP code. In output, it generates a list talking about errors, warnings & messages count. You can drill down in this report by double clicking the numbers. System will take you to a screen, which talks about the issue and the way to come out of that issue.
