Hi ,

I have Ztable with many fields. Now, I would like to change the data type of the one field From Char to Numeric. But we have so many records . How can i do i t? If I change it directly sap will accept and adjust it or not ?

U can truncate the records in that field or move the records to another table and change the fied in ztable..

Hi,

We want to click the utilities menu in se11..there will be Database utility..click tht and in the bottom there will be one push button called Adjust the database..click tht push button

There will also be two radio button which asking either to keep the data or delete the data...

We want to give keep the data....

It will change the values...

Hi,

Sorry yar,We cant modfy with out the values been deleted....I have given a brief description before for adding a new field in the table structure...

Y i am saying tht we can change means if there were values previosly was integer and we want to change to other data type which wil not accept the previous will cause an error...

This error will be shown in compile time itself

Hi,

It is not possible, to change the Field type if records are available in the table.

these records download to any fiel (Excel) after your changes completed you can write small BDC to upload data.
