Question about structures

Hi,

Are SAP standard structures transportable? If there is a report from SAP that does the enhancements to these structures with SAP standard fields, will the report have to be run on the target system to make add these fields and not transport or import these structures?

Hi,

If u r doing some modification for SAP standard structures, then obviously u need to transport it to quality and prod systems. otherwise these enhancements w'll not reflect to other systems.

HI,

If u modify a structure through standard Enhancement conocept Append structure or Include structure u will be saving the modification in a request which can be transported. If u use a program which modifies the Standard structure that program has to be run again in the target system for the changes to take effect.

Hi,

I am actually following an OSS note that says to run a standard report that enhances the structures with the standard fields, so I am not really enhancing any Z fields to the standard structures or Z structures.

When I run the report on the target system, QAS, I will get the following prompt:

"<i>Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted. Choose Display object or Cancel</i>."

Would I have to ask Basis to open the system and then close it back? I attempted to transport but the standard enhanced fiields would not show in the structures on target system.

Sometimes, it is the only option.. nothing wrong with that.. just be sure to not let others in while you make this change..

Hi,

When you are running SAP OSS note you got the following message

"Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted. Choose Display object or Cancel."

that means you did't do any updations/modifications you don't have authorizations

to do so it is not modified that is why it could't create any request.
