Are you reading a book or are you actually working on computer?

If you are working on a computer, are you working by logging into SAP or some simulated training course?

For compiling and executing ABAP programs, you need to log into SAP environment. I don't think there is any other way of independently compiling your code. There is a mini-SAP version available which you can install and test your programs.

Hope this helps,

Srinivas
