I want to remove the values in a value range on a domain that is currently in use in a database table. The table is in production with 1 million records. I want to change an existing domain on this feild to get rid of the range and transport it.

whats the impact on the existing data and table ?

I take it this is a custom table?

As long as the new values are not more restrictive you should be OK but add some entries in development/test and check. If the new entries are more restrictive it will corrupt the table

Hi J.J,

I have tried your scenario in sandbox. This works fine. As you change the domain just for removing the ranges value without any other modification, you won't even need to adjust the table.

But if you do any other modification to domain like data type or so, then you will be required to adjust the table in SE14 transaction. Now as large number of records are already in production, you can not introduce any other value range, which will mess you database.

Just removing the range values works fine and has no impact on existing data and even on table.

Hope this sort out your issue.

PS: If the answer solves your query, plz close the thread by rewarding points to each reply.

Regards
