Hello,

we would like to modify the printing behavior of a sap system.

Instead of printing to a printer, we would like to send the data to a RFC destination. The RFC destination creates a response, returns it to the sap system and the sap system prints it to the connected printer.

The question is: which format has the RFC destination to return? I thought at postscript. Can sap handel this and print/send it correctly to a connected printer?

The second question (we are java developers, but should try to understand the sap process before delegating it) is, it is possible to change the behavior of the print functionality to do this? (send all relevant print data to the RFC destination, get a postscript file returned and the print it locally)

Thanks for your help

Message was edited by:

        Peter Parker

Ok, i make it a little bit shorter.

Can i change the behavior of the sap printing dialog, this way, that i can assign certain tasks to a print job manually?

Which formats can be assigned to a print job? Can i say in ABAP 'heres a pdf, print it', 'heres postscript, transform it and then print it' etc?

Thanks for your help
