Changing Data type in a customised IDOC

Hi All...

I got a requirement to change the data type of Z field in an IDOC...

Can any one please let me know the steps to do this and also how to transport the changes to production.

Please note that

1.I want to do the changes in a ZXXXX IDOC

2. Field is also a ZXXXX.

Please help...!!

Please try this

Go to WE31 transaction, open the particular segment and get into the field, which requires changes and change the domain of the same.

I hope you are trying to change extended idoc or custom IDOC type

Pls let me know, if you have any clarifications

Hi,

Prior to change the data type, please cancel release.

Once changes are done, then you can set the release.

Yes i think so, after correction you need to set the release again, otherwise it may not work

Hi,

Follow these steps.

1. Go to transaction WE31 and enter your "Z" segment name. Let's say ZSEGMENT.

2. Once you enter this, under table "definition" you will see a vesion of your segment. ( it will be like something ZSEGMENT000 - wher '000' is version )

3. Select this version and go to menu "Edit - Cancel release". This will ask you to create a Transport reuqest. So create your transport.

4. Now double-click on the "segment version" (ZSEGMENT000). On the next screen hit change button on top.

5. Now change the whatever field you want to change and then save your changes.

6. Come back to the previous screen.

7. Again select the version as mentioned in step-3 above. The only difference is now you will select "Edit - set release".

Your change has been done your transport request is also create. Just release this transport and move it to whatever system it suppose to move. Your work is done.
