what is the difference between material type and material group?

hi Balu,

Material Groups (MATKL) are a classification of materials based on generic type.

for eg: we will have material groups like STEELS, ELECTRONICS, RAIDATOR etc..

which will have different material numbers associated with that.....based on the supplier providing them.

Material types (MTART) are a generic classification of materials based on their usage/consumption:

For eg: Row materials, Spare parts, finished goods are material types
