Sorry I know this is a common topic. But I am confused. Lets say I have an existing PO. If the PO line item exist, I want to change it. If the PO line item doesn't exist I want to add it.

I guess the question is on Bapi_PO_Change, whats the difference in changing an existing line item or adding a new line item?

I know there are the change tables like po_itemx that you use as a flag when you want to change something, So if I do not pass theses tables into the bapi. will the bapi create the line item?

I'm just confused about this.

Hi Akeem,

Consider a PO with 1 line item for Material 'A', Quantity 10. If you want to change the quantity in this line item to 20, then you will change the line item using BAPI_PO_CHANGE.

Under the same PO, you want to purchase Material 'B' (quantity 5) alongwith 'A', then a new line item is added to the same PO. This is also done with BAPI_PO_CHANGE.

If you are raising a PO with a different Vendor, then a new PO is to be created. Here you will use, BAPI_PO_CREATE.
