upgrade project

Hi...

Iam going to work in a Upgrade Project. So, what are the Topics i need to be Strong. My Client is going for SAP 6.0 from SAP 4.6 version.

What kind of issues will arise in a Upgrade Project ?

Hi,

You have to aware of all related program like BDC's , Screens related errors and all dictionary related problems.

Some function modules may become obsolete, and some screens will change

abnd some new fields will be added in the new versions etc.

Also take care of SPAU and SPDD tcodes.

Hi..

here u need to use the modification assistant tool..

and in 4.6 '-' is allowed in variable names but it is not allowed in 6.0. this is a major problem.

u will get most of EPC Errors....

and the transactions

SPDD - Display Modified DDIC Objects

once the project starts then u will come to know....

You should be able to know about Unicode concept in sap.

Search the forum for the same.

You should know about the obsolete Function modules in the new version and their replacements.

Replacing old BDC programs with BAPIs. etc.

there are the few things you should know before you go for a Upgrade Project

1-You should have knowledge in Unicode Concept

2-You should have better understaing in Debugging

3-There is some changes in smartforms so be through with smartforms.
