error while changing standard SAP code

Hi there,

I am trying to modify standard sap code. When I try to go in change mode to register the object to make the changes it gives the message.

"Source Code Contains Lines Exceeding the Line Length (072) SetNo Break Possible When Using Modification AssistantContinue with Maximum Line Length?. "

If I say 'YES', it gives abap dump. If press 'NO' then again comes back in display mode. Please advise how can I make the change to the object. Thanks.

Hi,

Which standard program you are trying to modify?

What is your requirement?

Why you are modifying standard SAP program?

Isn't there any other alternative available?

Actually I am just modifying the standard program to SET a parameter ID and use that value somewhere else. So this would not affect the standard functionality. I am modifying program in CRM. But how can I get rid of the error on change mode ?

Siddique,

Go to Utilities in the Menu bar.

click on settings.

we will get a windown where we can tick/untick the default line length as 72.

Try doing this.
