Hi all,

can anybody tell mein lsmw how to trap errors and how to downlod the errors into our local pc?

can anybody give some explanation what is begin_of_record,end_of_record,begin_of_transaction,end_of_transaction,transfer_record and skip_record.

Hi,

u can handle only the validations in lsmw but not the transaction errors.

Global data- Just like global declarations in ABAP

begin of processing - Initialization in abap

begin of transaction - this block gets triggered for every transaction.if there are

header and item level structures (hierarchical), then this

block will trigger only for Header records

begin of record. - This block gets triggered for every record.

skip_record - will skip the particular record from the processing. means

that particular record will not be converted.

skip_transaction - It will skip the single record or multiple records basd on the

source structu res.(if there is no header and item, it will skip

only one record, else it will skip all the records of a particular

header)

to handle the Validations

- need to declare the internal table with the required fields to capture the errors

- write the validation code in the required block (begin of transaction, begin of

record, or at any particular field level)

- if correspondig validation fails capture the record into internal table...

and insert the global function skip_record or skip_transaction to skip the record.

by this the record will not be processed further

capture all such error records into an internal tabel

- in the end of processing block u can down load these exceptions into a file (Excel or text) using the function module GUI_DOWNLOAD.

hi,

In lsmw we can trap the errors and pass on to the pc using GUI_download.we can write this in the end of processing

begin_of_record,

Start of the record currently being processed

End_of_record,

end of the above

begin_of_transaction,

suppose u are processing more than 1 transaction we need this.

end_of_transaction,

end of the above

skip_record.

if you want to skip a particular record.
