Hi,

SM30 SM31 are the transactions.

Using thisYou can generate database table and view maintenance dialogs to maintain customizing data. You can create, change and delete customizing data with these maintenance dialogs. You can also use maintenance dialogs for customer database table and maintenance views.

You can modify maintenance dialogs flexibly to your requirements by defining variants of an existing maintenance view, or adding your own modules to existing maintenance dialogs. You can make further functional enhancements at predefined events in the table maintenance dialog flow. You can collect related data from more than one table/view in a view cluster.

Hi,

When you wants to enter records/entries as and when into the table which you created you have to create this table maintenance generator.

from SE11 enter table table create with fields;

then from the menu UTILITIES -> TABLE MAINTENANCE GENERATOR

enter &NC& in Auth Group and some function group and enter screen no press create.

Then Once it is created go to the Transaction SM30 and enter this table name press MAIntain , enter the records or change.

Hi,

We can even make use of the validations required for some fields thro' table maintenance,while creating the entry.

If some fields need to be populated automatically while creating an record in a database,we can make use of table maintenance for this purpose.

You can create your own module for checking validation and you can display the default values when new entry is pressed.

Step 1: Create table maintenance by

SE11->change mode of a table->Utlities->Table maintenance Generator

Step 2:Click create button by giving Authorization group,Function group and Maintenance Steps[fill the screen nos.]

Step 3:THen generate it.

Step 4:In the screen,click Fn.Gr Text push button.

Step 5:Uncomment the includes PAI and PBO and give them valid names.

Step 6: In PBO include,create your own module and code for the requirements.

Step 7: In PAI include,create your own module and code for the validations appropraitely.

The Table Maintenance Generator is used to create table maintenance program to add, modify or delete records in the database table. This can be accessed using transaction SE54 or in SE11 using the menu Utilities->Table Maintenance Generator.

Hello,

Table Maintenance is used to maintain the values of a custom table.It is not required for all the tables.It is required only in those tables where you give the option to the end user to maintain the table data.Based on your requirements,you may want to change or add/delete the contents of your table.The procedure for table maintenance is:

1)Go to se11 and type the table name in Display or change mode.

2)Using the menu path Utilities -> Table Maintenance Generator .Table maintenance is generated.

3)To be able to maintain your table using a transaction(using a transaction for table maintenance dialog),you need to do the following.

•Create a new transaction of the type “Parameter Transaction” from SE93, specifying SM31 as the transaction.

•The VIEWNAME parameter is set to your table name with the option ‘Skip initial Screen’ set.

•The UPDATE parameter is set to value ‘X’.
