Reading Long text without READ_TEXT

Hi Gurus

Iam trying to find out the object name and id of a longtext in tcode

J1IA101 -- IN THE TAB OF ADDITIONAL TABLE

IN normal tcode when we double click on the text we get text id object id and name but here iam trying to find it out the id ,name and object iam unable to get that ..i tried to find out thrugh F! help there is no sign of any action when i click F1 on the text.

Is there any other way to read the text rather then READ_TEXT

i not even got the Table name

Hi Farukh,

As this is an Internal Document, THere is no Text defined for the Transaction.

I am not getting the text tab For the same, Check out whether the text is existing or not.

in j1ia101 there is a tab with name ADDITIONAL DATA IN HEADER PART

IN THAT THERE IS LONG TEXT ICON .

HI ,

I think the problem in this case is that you are not able to determine the values to be passed to the FM READ _TEXT .

The easiest way to get these values is to debug it . Please hit /h in transaction window before you click on the tab to see the long text . Then once in debugger on selection of tab . Go to -> Set Breakpoint at FUNCTION MODULE - READ_TEXT . Once the break point is created then hit F8 ...the debugger would stop at the call to the FM READ_TEXT ..here click on the various input parameters to get your values for th call to read the text .
