searchhelp only getting 500 values

Hi Friends,

I have table ztruck which has 1000 entries [ 700 entries for plant BS and remaining for plant KS ] This table has another table zplant as check table which has only plants in it .

ztruck table fields.

zwerks

ztruckname

zplant fields ,

zwerks.

This ztruckname is used in a scrreen designed using dialog progreamming .

When I do F4 on the ztruck name on the screen . It shows only first 500 values of BS .

Why is it returning only 500 values ?

I am using a search help exit to filter the values specific to that plant .

Please give me some input and examples of search help .

There could be a Maximum number of hits field in the F4 help, make sure that you set this to a higher number.

For example, do the F4 help, there is a line that goes the entire way across the window just above the toolbar with a down arrown in the middle of it. Click this. You will now see the maximum hit number field. Probably says 500, change this here to 1500, now you will see all of the values.

After login --> select Help from menu ~~> settinf~~>select f4 help tab--> change max. number of hits to be displayed --> 500 to 9999

I probably wouldn't suggest on doing that as it will be system wide and will cause some performance issue when doing F4 help on fields that have a lot of values. Of course, it will work though.

if it is zsearch help associated with it just check in se11 the search help is displaying with the property display immediately or not.. just change the property to dialog with value restrictions or dialog depends on set of values..it will give you the option to change the no of hits..

you can find it for the search help in se11 after giving the searchhelp name and give change . in a list box you can find that property...
