you can schedule a back ground job in SM36. Since you have many variants and you want to run one after the other, check if there is a way to mention the variants one after the other. Or else the blunt way of doing it is ...

to create as many jobs as there are variants in SM36.

Award points if it helps.

hi,

Variants are the set of data passed as an input to perform operations.

Alv use varinats to store layouts and the function in question here provides F4 help on the parameter field for veriant.

to know more you can check this-

http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/BCSRVALV/BCSRVALV.pdf

. When you execute your report which has a parameter or a select option it first goes to the selection screen. In this screen you can find in the path,

goto --> variants --> save as variants.

This will lead to a variant attributes screens where you can give ur values for your parameters and select-options and save it by giving a variant name.

After that when you execute the same program another time you can see another button on the selection screen where you can select variant according to the variant name.

You can save any no. of variants.

Usually variants are used for testing for specific values.

For eg. Let us take 5 parameters where the result of the program will vary based on parameter values.

You can test the program by storing a specific values of the parameters in a variant and you can use it during your next execution. ( you need not enter the values for each and every execution. )

Hope this helps you.

sri
