Delete SAP class

I tried to delete a custom class in se80 or se24, but got an error says 'You cannot perform this action in modification mode'. I tried many things such as changing the code from display mode to edit mode, or switching off assistant under edit-> modification operations, but still got the same error. I would really appreciate if any of you could shed some lights on it. Thanks.

hi Joanna,

go to transaction SE24, delete from the initial screen after entering the class name.

Dont click display/change in the screen, but click delete button on the application toolbar (6th button) (SHIFT+F2).

Hi Joanna,

Please try this.

SE24 -> Enter Object type -> Change -> Utilities -> Clean Up -> Method includes.

Then go back to SE24 -> Enter Object type -> Delete.

ho Joanna,

Please do a where used list search for this class; i was wondering if you are using some instances of this class (a very wild guess)!

Also please ensure that you dont have another session with this class in edit mode (though in this case, the error message would be different).

Also, goto sm04 to see if you have some sessions which you got terminated due to dump errors (in that case kill those sessions).

Sajan,

Acutally it's a brand new custom class that I just created. I haven't got to the point to create methods or instances yet. The reason that I want to delete and then recreate it is that I forgot to add its superclass when I created it the first tme. Any other suggestions?

I found the solution. I switched off assistant under Edit-> Modification operations, and was able to delete the class. Thank you all for your help. Have a good day.

I am also facing the same issue, I have tried to switch off assistant under Modification operations But I don't have that option, Is there any other solution for this. can you please help me with this?

did you try to change package assignment in se80 to another custom package(Z package) and then erase from there?
