If we will display the data by writing write statement on start of selection then what is the need of end-of- selection in classical report.

Hi Rohit,

In this case there is no need of End-of-selection, only it is useful in the LDB's.

end of selection only signifigant if you are using STOP command in your prog. if stop command executed it will directly go to end-of-selection from any event...

This is the last of the events called by the runtime environment to occur. It is triggered after all of the data has been read from the logical database, and before the list processor is started. You can use the corresponding event block to process and format the data that the program has stored in internal tables or extracts during the various GET events.

Hi Rohit ,

1)The END-OF-SELECTION event is triggered once the logical database has finished reading all data and before the list processor is started.You can use the corresponding event block to process and format the data that the program has stored in internal tables or extracts during the various GET events.

2)This is the event triggered after the data is selected/manipulated. That way this event will be used for outputting data.

In normal reports, this event is of no use.

By usin end-of-selection we can free the unwanted memory after getting selection.

Hi Rohit!

If we write STOP in INITIALIZATION event, control goes to

END-OF-SELECTION,not to START-OF-SELECTION.

Hi ,

All the events are having particular purpose , Start-of-selection for accessing database and end-of-selection for writing on screen .

As a good practice, your code should be according to this events .

So that the control goes to all the ABAP events in sequence, and hence none of the event is skipped .
