while iam creating sreachhelp

i am getting the following error "Search help parameter ABC does not occur in the selection method"

plz suggest me

Check for the field ABC in the table/view u are using for search help.As per the message, it feels as if the field is not there in the table/view. If the field is there, then the table/view is not active.

Hi Rasheed,

There might be two reasons :

First check whether the Search help has been activated or not.

Second, check whether you have used the particular search help in the corrrect program or not.

hi rasheed,

first u should look about ABC parameter,

u should have ABC field in database table to define there other wise it throws error

as u got,

define the parameter with availabel fileld in the database table then plm solves automaticaly.

For restricting values at the F4 help at the selection screen filed,

You must give the Field name from where this F4 help must bring the possible values.Therefore know the field( and its Data Element ).

Example:

For CARRID field in SPFLI Table Seach help is H_SCARR.

For easy understanding see already created Search helps:

1.Go to SE11

2.In the initial screen, click at search help radio button and type H_SCARR

and check how how search help parameter is given.

PERFORM search_help_fieldname .

FORM search_help_field .

Selection query for HitList.(Which values you want to show in the Search Help)

parameter_error = 1

IF sy-subrc EQ 0.

READ TABLE itab_charg INDEX 1. "transporting field

IF sy-subrc EQ 0.

MOVE itab_field-fieldTO s_field-low.

ENDIF.

ENDFORM.

In this way we can handle the Search Help.
