Table maintenance generator is used to add/modify/delete the records in the data base table.

Tcode is SM30.

hi RajaReddy,

Table maintenance generator is used to maintain entries for a table with out creating a module pool program manually. SAP has provided the frame-work to genarate a maintenance screen for any table being created by the customer.

Follow the steps below to create a maintenance generator.

1->From SE11, navigate to Utilities->Table Maintenance generator

2-> in the new screen, you have to mention a screen number (starting with (, recommended)

3->mention a function group, authorization group..etc..

4->choose the radio button One step, based on the requirement.

5->Save.

6->go to SM30, enter the table name, click on create/maintain button

Now you will get a screen, where you can enter values to the table

Also, you can change/delete entries in this table....

the table maintanance generator of a dictionary table is provided at

se11->Delivery and Maintanance tab->Data Browser/Table View Maint.it gives 3 options

On the Delivery and Maintenance tab, enter the delivery class of the table.

On this tab, choose an entry from the dropdown box for the Data Browser/Table View Maintenance field. Choose Table maintenance allowed on this tab page if users with the corresponding authorization may change the data in the table using the Data Browser (Transaction SE16). For more information refer to the available options in Data Browser/Table View Maintenance.

this is three options test it once if u have doubt askme at evening 6pm i will answer.

One step, two step in Table Maintenance Generator

Single step: Only overview screen is created i.e. the Table Maintenance Program will have only one screen where you can add, delete or edit records.

Two step: Two screens namely the overview screen and Single screen are created. The user can see the key fields in the first screen and can further go on to edit further details.

hi kudala,

table mainataince means u can do 3 things to particular tables:

1) U can INSERT data in that table

2) u can DELETE data from that table

3) u can CHANGE existing data from that table

the transaction for table maintenance generator is SM30

when u goto transaction SM30...insert the table name and click on change..

now u can insert, delete or change data from that table...

Note: before going to SM30 check whether the table is having table mainatainance allowed option. if this is active then only u can do the changes in that table...

if u want that maintainace in that table u will have to set table mainatainance generator for that table...for that first create a function group in SE37 --> then goto se11 enter table name --> click on change --> goto utilities --> click on table maintenance generator ~~> enter the function group name~~> and select type as &NC& type...

and activate...also in attributes select table mainataince allowed option...

hi,

The table maintainence generator is required for each table.this is used to maintain the data.like inserting and modifing or deleting the data of the table.

u can do this is SM30 TCODE,

while creating the Ztable it asks for the table mantaince generator.ther u need to give the function group name.that function group needs to be created in se37 TCODE.
