Field Validation in table maintenance

Hi,

I have a requirement to validate a field value whenever entry is made in custom table or whenever entry is changed in the custom table. Please tell me how to validate the data in table maintenance.

Hi,

GO to SE51..

Give the program name..SAPL + FUNCTION GROUP NAME that you used for creating the table maintenance..

Give the screen number..

Press change..

in the PAI. create a module to validate the data..

Hi Kiran,

Please follow the steps to put validations in the Table maintenance screen program:

1->go to se11, display your table

2->navigate to Utilities->Table Maintenance Generator

3->double click on the maintenance screen number (overview screen)

4->Now you are in the flow logic .

5->define a module inside the LOOP AT EXTRACT...ENDLOOP in the

PAI (Process after input event).

6->double click the newly defined module and navigate to the abap editor;

write the validation logic in your module.

There is an elegant method using events, you can use pre-defined events (SE11 -> table maintenance generator -> environment -> modification -> events). You can put your validation code in the events.

All other methods suggested are non standard and will get overwritten whenever table maintenance is regenerated.
