Hi Folks,

I had copied a bdc program which is having a selection screen to a new name,but when I see this new program in SE80 it is not showing that Screen but when i execute it indeed selection-screen is coming.May I know what is the reason for the same not showing up in SE80.

FOR EX

ZABC IS COPIED TO ZDEF.

ZABC WHEN VIEWED IN SE80 CONTAINER ( I MEAN THE LEFT HAND SIDE BLOCK OF SE80) SHOWING THAT IT IS HAVING A SCREEN.

ZDEF WHEN VIEWED IN SE80 CONTAINER IS NOT SHOWING THAT THIS PROGRAM IS HAVING A SCREEN.

BUT BOTH THE PROGRAMS ARE WORKING FINE AND EVEN SHOWING UP THE SELECTION SCREEN WHEN EXECUTED.]

May I know why?

Hi,

If u view via SE80 it will show u tehd efault slection screen as 1000.

Other than that if u ahve any other screens defined in ur program it willbe shown under the 1000.

Default selection screen 1000. U cant modify or do anything .

It is not even showing the Screen option in the container.But it is working prorperly when I execute ii, I mean even showing up the selection-screen.But not the option in the container.

May I know why?

Hi,

U can check some other programs for eg. With selection screen adn other screen.

See BCALV_GRID_01 it doesnot have a selection screen so if u see teh same in SE80 u can see only the ALV container screen number.

See BCALV_GRID_03 with two screens but no selection screen.

See BCALV_GRID_09 it is with slection screen as well as other screen so u can see two screen numbers, but u will see only 100 in the SE38 and not 1000.

Jessy,

All I want to know is why it is not showing up in SE80 container when infact it is having a selection-screen which gets duly shown on exceuting either through se38 or se80.

The thing in the container it is not displaying along with the list of includes,fields,subroutines etc.In this list there is no SCREEN.

why?

Please read through the documentation for SELCTION-SCREEN.

Reports, that is, programs with type "1" in their attributes, usually have a selection screen , which is generated from the SELECT-OPTIONS and PARAMETERS statements from the report and the access routines for the logical database, where one line of the selection screen is taken up by each of these objects.

Additionaly, you can define your own selection screen in any ABAP programs (except type "S" programs), using SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN/END OF SCREEN. You call them in your program using the CALL SELECTION-SCREEN statement.

You design selection screens using the SELECTION-SCREEN statement. In the standard selection screen of a report, the SELECTION-SCREEN statement in the report, and the selection include of the logical database ldb assigned to the report in its attributes, control the screen design. The logical database section is controlled by special additions.

SELECTION-SCREEN allows you to create blocks and tabstrip controls, combine several parameters and comments into a single line, create pushbuttons on the screen or in the application toolbar, and include spaces, underlines and comments on the screen.

There are other variants on SELECTION-SCREEN, which have been designed exclusively for logical databases, and can therefore only be used in the selection include.

The problem is after copying the program sometimes we need to click the refresh button which is located on the extremed right side of the container in SE80.That solved the problem and I was able to see the SCREEN option in the container along with the other list.

how come you get the screen option when u press refresh? even i have faced this issue before and still i don't know the reason why sel-screen (1000) doesn't come in teh screen tab? of course, this is not in any means create a problem with the program's execution, but curious to know why the screen no. 1000 is not showing in se80...thanks
