VA01 - Performance issue when inputing line item

Hi all,

I have an incident raised saying that it takes a long time to input the first sales order line item when creating a sales order. A trace shows that it is taking a long time accessing the pricing tables. As these tables are buffered, it make sense why it's taking longer during the first access. I have also raised an OSS note with SAP but was returned with an old note that has been implemented.

Is there any other areas (technical) that I can look into that can help improve performance?

I also notice that the size category of the pricing tables are set lower than the actual data in the table. Will that affect performance?

Go back to SAP and tell them that the note is already implemented. The size of the pricing tables might degrade performance slightly, but not by much.

Bear in mind that VA01 is a slow transaction. Is it much slower than others?

Hi,

I have checked that all OSS notes are applied and the SD config is okay.

It was found that this may be a buffering issue. The pricing tables are over 18MBs which is way too big to be fully buffered. Basis have been informed to review the pricing tables to see which are not suitable for full buffering.
