File update

Is there any way that a file from the AS400 can be updated directly from SAP?

A physical file? One that does not exist in the Dictionary?

Thanks for that information!

I can read the file but I am having difficulty updating it. Does all files for update that are getting access in SAP needs to be journalled?

To correct the error according to SAP note 116192 is to start journalling the file.

Is there any way I could do the update without having to journal, I guess is my question.

Please help. Thanks again in advance.
