Since your question is rather unspecific I can only guess what you mean. If "defect" means "bug or software defect" then we are talking about a <b>bug tracking system</b>. This could be, for example, one of the HP/Mercury products or any other bug tracking system (e.g. Bugzilla).

normally every company has its own documents of which one of the dcument will be the defect document...for a object the various defects are captured in this document for analysis purposes...
