I am posting some questions. Please provide the answers.

1.Suppose u have 4 fields in an internal table, 3 fields contains data but fourth field is empty.

if sy-subrc = 0.

itab-field4 = value4.

Check if the table is not empty.

if not itab[] is initial.

select using for all entries

Sort statement.

Yes.

Yes.

7 What is the difference between delivery class and data class?

Request is a bundle that packs all the development objects so that they can be transferred to another environment.

9 What is difference between inner join and for all entries?

10. How can u assign the driver program to form?

NACE transaction.

11 What is purpose of protect, end protect?

Restrict the data to be printed on the same page.

12. How can u count the number of rows in internal table?

describe table itab lines v_Lines.

13. What is table maintenance generator?

a standard program that lets the end user maintain the entries in a table.

14. What is the difference between 'sellect single' and 'select up to one row'?

Hi,

Please see some of the answers.

1. You can enter the fourth field by selecting the entry and select change mode

and enter the fourth field value. You can only enter the value if it is not a primary key and the table is a custom table.

4. SORT statement is mandatory.

5. In debugging mode you can change the SY-SUBRC value.

6. But In debugging mode it is possible to insert rows.

8. Creating a request number is done in transaction SE10 and include the object names you want.

11. Protect EndProtect is used in Scripts.

itab1 is not initial.

there is some common field between itab1 & itab2.

4) For binary search table should be sorted.

9)What is difference between inner join and for all entries?.

FOR ALL ENTRIES retrieves all the table entries depending on another table.

Inner Join retrieves table entries which match the specified condition between two tables.

Do not use JOIN if the number of tables is greater than 4.

14). What is the difference between 'sellect single' and 'select up to one row'?

The 'SELECT SINGLE' statement selects the first row in the database that it finds that fulfils the 'WHERE' clause If this results in multiple records then only the first one will be returned and therefore may not be unique.

The 'SELECT .... UP TO 1 ROWS' statement is subtly different. The database selects all of the relevant records that are defined by the WHERE clause, applies any aggregate, ordering or grouping functions to them and then returns the first record of the result set.

When Select Single statement is used, all the keys should be specified. And more importantly SAP buffer is always bypassed with the use of this statement.

Select upto 1 rows can very well use the buffer in case the table has SAP Buffer declared in ABAP Dictionary.

Following are the answers:

1/2. We can enter data in fourth field using Modify command.

3. For using for-all-entries effectively, parent table should not be empty.

4. For using BINARY SEARCH, the table ou are trying to READ with KEY expression must ve SORTED in ASCENDING order of KEY expressions.

5. Yes, provided you are authorizd to do so.

6. Yes, you can insert a row in an internal table.

7. Delivery Class determines who is responsible for maintaining the table.

Data Class determines the table space.

8. In simple words Request number are the change tracker. Whenever you make any chnages or create an object in SAP you need to create a request which tracks the initiator, last changed by, last chang on ect.

9. Inner joins are used for data fetching from more than two tables in one database interaction. It takes more time as it goes for cross product of the records of the tables.

For all entries is used when you want to fetch data from two tables. this is a fast processing way as data gets fetched from first table and dependent recors from the second tables are only fetched in next go.

10.Smart form creates a function module whener created. In your program whenever you call that function module, forma gets called.

11. Protect..Endprotect are used in scripts when you want to print certain part on the same page.

12.Using DESCRIBE itab LINES lines.

13. Table maintenance generator is used for maintenance of data i.e. creation/modification/deletion by user using SM30/sm31.

14.Select Single fetches the last record from the table. It searches the whole table.

Select upto one row fetches the first record found and stops there.

15.PAGE n OF n1.

16.yes, possible.

17.Initialisation is the event triggered when system is initializing the variables.

LOAD OF PROGRAM gets triggered when system is loading the program into memory.

Also LOAD OF PROGRAM cannot be used with modulpool programs.

18.AT SELECTION SCREEN gets triggerred before creen is dispayed to the user.

AT SELECTION SCREEN OUTPUT gets triggered when user is on the screen.

delivery clas determines the owner of the in this table. owner is responsible for maintaing the table contents .

In customer tables you always enter A here.Which indicates that the table contains application data owned by the customer only.

data class:determines the tablespace.

impoetant data classes are:

APPL0 or master data,

APPL1 or transaction data.

APPL2 or Customizing data.

1. What is the difference between delivery class and data class?

a. Data class tells that where exactly table to be stored in the database.

b. Delivery class tells that who are going to maintain the table.At the time of

installation or upgrades this delivery class come into picture.

DATA CLASS in Detail :

Data class in technical settings

The data class defines the physical area of the database (for ORACLE the

TABLESPACE) in which your table is logically stored. If you choose a

data class correctly, your table will automatically be assigned to the

correct area when it is created on the database.

The most important data classes are (other than the system data):

a. APPL0 Master data

b. APPL1 Transaction data

c. APPL2 Organizational and customizing data

Master data is data which is frequently read, but rarely updated.

Transaction data is data which is frequently updated. Organizational und

customizing data is data which is defined when the system is initialized

and then rarely changed.

The data class only has an effect on table storage for the database

systems ORACLE and INFORMIX. ***

DELIVERY CLASS in Detail :

The delivery class controls the transport of table data when installing

or upgrading, in a client copy and when transporting between customer

systems. The delivery class is also used in the extended table

maintenance.

There are the following delivery classes:

o A: Application table (master and transaction data).

o C: Customer table, data is maintained by the customer only.

o L: Table for storing temporary data.

o G: Customer table, SAP may insert new data records, but may not

overwrite or delete existing data records. The customer namespace

must be defined in table TRESC. (Use Report RDDKOR54 here).

o E: System table with its own namespaces for customer entries. The

customer namespace must be defined in table TRESC. (Use Report

RDDKOR54 here.)

S: System table, data changes have the same status as program

changes.

W: System table (e.g. table of the development environment) whose

data is transported with its own transport objects (e.g. R3TR PROG,

R3TR TABL, etc.).

Summary:

Data class tells that where exactly table to be stored in the database.

Delivery class tells that who are going to maintain the table.At the time of

installation or upgrades this delivery class come into picture.

2. Difference between Inner join and Outer join ???

If the second table is empty, all the records in the table( which is specified in

the FROM clause ) are selected.

But, whereas in the INNER JOIN, no records are selected.

I think the above desc. make you understand more clear.

itab-field4 = value.

modify table itab index 1.

11 What is purpose of protect, end protect?

You can specify, either in the style or in the form, that a particular paragraph should not be split in two by a page break. If this page protect attribute is set, then the complete paragraph is always printed on one page. This property applies only to that particular paragraph.

If you are interested if there exists at least one row of a database

table or view with a certain condition, use the Select ... Up To 1

Rows statement .If all primary key fields are supplied in the Where condition you

can even use Select Single.

Select Single requires one communication with the database system,

whereas Select-Endselect needs two(UP TO 1 rows).

15 How can u print the current page and total pages in SAP-script?
