Maintenance Views

hi..

i created a maintenance view and i have done the relationship b/w 2 tables and select few fields and activated. there s no prob till now. when i enter the same view in maintain table view (SM30). i m facing an error (the maint. dialog for the specific view is incomplete or not defined.) when i click the maintain button.

plz help me for the same..

You need to create the maintainance object using SE11.

goto SE11

give the tablename-->display

in menu utilities--->Table maintenance generator

create table maintenance generator and save

then goto SM30

Hi Ashraf,

have you already generated the table maintenance dialgue? If not, do so in SE11 by choosing utilities -> table maintenance generator or using transaction SE54.

You will have to provide a function group that will contain the generated coding.

Afterwards, you should be able to maintain the view using transaction SM30.

in SE11 specify the view name and create a table maintenance generator from utilities menu and create the table maintenance and activate the same...Now, u can see the fields of the view in SM30.

while creating u may get doubt what is single step and two step, here it is

<b>Single step</b>: Only overview screen is created i.e. the Table Maintenance Program will have only one screen where you can add, delete or edit records.

<b>Two step:</b> Two screens namely the overview screen and Single screen are created. The user can see the key fields in the first screen and can further go on to edit further details.

Ashraf,

Goto SE11

Give the tablename-->display

Menu Utilities--->Table maintenance generator

Enter the Auth Group as '&NC&'

Enter a Function Group name (You might have to create a new one using Transaction SE80).

Maintenance Type Click on One Step (It can vary depending on your req)

Maint Screen no as '0100' (just an example)

And now activate it.

Now you should be able to enter the entries using TC SM30.
