smartform- reading long text

hi guru's,

i have smartform where i have to read long text. the current transaction is enhanced using user exit to insert long text. i am able to read the data of long text into my internal of table type completely but iam unable to output in the layout. it is reading only part of data. i have tried several ways but of no use.

please help me to solve the issue.

Make sure you have given correct dimensions for the long text. Sometimes part of the text is only displayed because of smaller window size.

Also I believe you are displaying the text in smartform using text type "Include Text"

Nothing works out try a z program to read the text and see if its populated in the internal table properly

thanks for the reply. the window size is much longer than the text bcz the data after the long text is getting displayed. so plz can u tell is there any other solution for it.

Hello,

For reading the text mostly we use the function module Read_Text.

In such cases we handled the situation as follows.

U can check this code,

g_f_tdname1 = xvttp-vbeln.

g_f_obj1 = p_obj.

g_f_langu1 = 'DE'.

REFRESH g_t_lines.

CLEAR g_t_lines.

CALL FUNCTION 'READ_TEXT'

EXPORTING

id = p_var

language = g_f_langu1

name = g_f_tdname1

object = g_f_obj1

TABLES

lines = g_t_lines

EXCEPTIONS

id = 1

language = 2

name = 3

not_found = 4

object = 5

reference_check = 6

wrong_access_to_archive = 7

OTHERS = 8.

LOOP AT g_t_lines.

CONCATENATE g_f_var8 g_t_lines-tdline INTO g_f_var8 SEPARATED BY

space.

ENDLOOP.

So in the above code for the lengthy text we concatenate and send it a single varible .

U can try in similar manner.

Hi gurus,

My alv grid has a field Department(KOSTL), i am displaying it thru the final internal table it_final. the problem this department is being peicked from two tables ie ESKN and COBRB depending on the condition KNTTP = F or K.

i am able to display fields from table in the grid, suppose for condition KNTTP = F.

how to input the data in the same field if KNTTP = K.

IF NOT it_eskn[] IS INITIAL.

count = 1.

LOOP AT it_eskn.

it_final-kostl = it_eskn-kostl.

MODIFY it_final INDEX count TRANSPORTING kostl.

count = count + 1.

CLEAR it_final.

ENDLOOP.

ENDIF.

now i am able to move it_eskn-kostl to final internal table. but i also want to move it_cobrb-kostl to the same field of the final internal table ie it_final-kostl.

please help me guys
