There is nothing enigmatic or complicated about BAdIs. BAdIs are the most up-do-date technique of user-exits where SAP allows us to adjust a standard process to customer-specific requirements. Important: these user-exits are predefined by SAP.

The really challenging task is to find the appropriate BAdI (transaction SE18). If you have found the right one implementation is just a piece of cake:

(1) Define an implementation of your BAdI (transaction SE19) => This simply means: I am about to implement this BAdI.

(2) Generate automatically the class implementing the BAdI (which is usually an interface) (transaction SE19).

(3) Implement the method of this generated class (transaction SE24).

(4) Finally, do not forget to activate your implementation (SE19).

Hi Vinod ,

BADI stands for Business Add In

BADI are object orient version of user exits.

So as is the case with user exits they are basically used to add additional functionality to our system.

Badi provides many more functionlaity than user exits such as filters , country specific processing e.t.c

Hi,

BADI means business Add-in. Its main purpose is to provide options for enhance the existing code or add to the existing code your own code.

SAP will deliver you a BADI definition, which is nothing but an INTERFACE(ABAP objects). This interface will have predefined methods. You can create implementation for this interface and have that code executed instead of the default implementation provided by SAP.

SAP will provide generic implementation in most of the case you need to code your own implementation by implementing this interface. Then your implementation will be executed instead.

BAdI(Business Addins) are enhancement techniques using Object Oriented Technique.

Users of BAdI can customize the logic according to the specific requirements (User-defined) or use the standard logic available.

Each Business Add-In has

At least one BAdI definition

A BAdI interface

A BAdI class that implements the interface

For User-defined BAdI,

developer creates an interface for the add-in.

Enhancement management creates an adapter class that implements the interface

Developer creates an instance of the class in the application program and calls the corresponding methods.

For standard BAdI, interface and class will be predefined by SAP.

Adapter class performs these tasks

Control ( the class calls all active implementations)

Filtering (If the Add-in has to be executed under certain conditions, the class ensures that only certain implementations are executed)
