One of the main validation you do in a BDC is a Master data check. i.e. you check programatically that the data you are feeding to the BDC has all its pre-requisite data created.

Hello,

You can do a lot of validations in BDC, but do check with your functional consultant and then decide what all validations are necessary based on the input file.

Dear Ahmed,

It depends upon the Functional Requirement. Talk to your Functional Consultant pertaining to the particular Master Data Upload.

After getting hold of the requirement, talk to your Func.Consultant regarding the Excel file Template - from where you're going to upload the data.

There are mainly three Type Validations in BDC.

1. Currency

2. Amount (Unit)

3. Date format.

As these three needs to be in SAP format otherwise sometimes they give dump.

Hi,

Most of the validations are done by the standard program itself.

Suppose, you do a BDC for some table control, thenyou may have to do some validation to check the number of lines in the table control and populate the table entries appropriately.

There are some transactions, wherein you can enter your own number or allow the system to generate the number. In such case you may require some additional validations.
