data selection on the selection screen

Hi Experts,

I have got a requirement to insert the data in the field-GJAHR on the selection screen as soon as the user selects PRNAM. The user has to select 'prnam' from the search list only. The selection should be such that, the gjahr should be of the same row as on which the user has CLICKED ON THE SEARCH LIST for the corresponding prnam. These two field are from the table IMTP.

read database table at selection screen event using key value PRNAM and the assign the GJAHR field with the corresponding value.

Hi,

Do not worry about to get the value from the search help, This is possible with the select statment also, just goto SE11 and give that search help name and see from which table the search help is picking the value, then in your program, just write the logic with a simple select statment to get the GJAHR based on the PRNAM from that table.this should be done in the AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT. so the value will come and be there in the field GJAHR

The search list is the list which we get on the selection screen. the prnam field is defined as p_prnam type imtp-prnam.

i had written the program as:

parameters: p_prnam like imtp-prnam,

p_gjahr like imtp-gjahr.

data: v_gjahr like p_gjahr.

at selection-screen on p_prnam.

select gjahr from imtp into v_gjahr where prnam = p_prnam.

endselect.

p_gjahr = v_gjahr.

this program fails since the prnam and gjahr combination will have unique value. or in other words, for each prnam we can have many gjahr values.

therefore we need to select prnam from the selection screen and the same corresponding gjahr values should be selected.

can i seek more clarity on your solution?

i dont know if you are trying to say that if you click on the search help it will populate two values in two parameters or not ? if it is so then i cant give you any solution.

if the user make the entry and press enter the gjahr value will automatically populate that i can do.

selection-screen begin of block b1 with frame title text-001.

selection-screen begin of line.

parameters : pbelnr like bkpf-belnr." user-command 'parm'.

parameters : pgjahr like bkpf-gjahr.

selection-screen end of line.

selection-screen end of block b1 .

at selection-screen on pbelnr.

select single gjahr into pgjahr from bkpf where belnr = pbelnr.

just check whether it is complete your requirement or not.

i didnt use selection-screen comment pleaase do that for field labels.

i think ur question is , if we select PRNAM from the 3rd row of the search list then GJAHR should also be present on the 3rd row of the search list. for this u have to create ur own search list.

if this is not ....then like said by others u have to use select option to get the GJAHR for the given PRNAM.

try this -

tables zgill_main.

parameters pernr like zgill_main-pernr modif id ABC .

parameters org like zgill_main-org modif id ABC.

at selection-screen output.

loop at screen.

if pernr is not initial and screen-group1 = 'ABC'.

select single * from zgill_main where pernr = pernr.

org = zgill_main-org.

modify screen.

endif.

endloop.
