Working on Interfaces

Hi all ,

Would need some advice on how to start working on an interface. We have an external interface coming to SAP and posting billing documents .

We need to make some changes , so that the reference number field contains the billing document number . How should we approach to make these changes , and what should be the starting point

Coming to SAP is quite vague.

What are you developing?
RESTful services?
OData?
WSDL?
FTP?
IDoc?

If you want a real help, share as many as possible details helping us to understand the situation.

Actually it is through a RFC connection , but I would like to understand how the interfaces are developed in the first place . Can you recommend any resource , which will provide the interface technologies that work with SAP .

Hmm still very vague. SAP interfaces have been around for 40 years, so understand people don't want to tell you the history of all kinds of SAP interfaces. First collect more information about what is this interface, then revert back and tell us what people told you.
