can any one send me the steps to create search help/ match code.

advantages of using it.

Hi,

Searchhelps will give possible no of entries for a field. (Possible no of options).

For e.g company code has no of entries in T001. If you have attach a search help you can look up entries of that table.

Creating Search help

1.Go to SE11--> select Elementary serachhelp

2.Give the source name i.e table or database view

3. Specify Hit list

4. Save & Activate.

Search help is used to define input help (F4 help) for screen fields.Search helps enable you to restrict selections using a variety of criteria.

They are particularly useful if you want to report on data for persons for whom the information at your disposal is incomplete. If you choose Search helps, the system displays a variety of search helps (such as last name – first name and organizational assignment) which can be used to select personnel numbers efficiently.

After you have selected the search help for which you have the most information, enter the information. When the report is executed, it only runs for the employees who meet the criteria specified.

Creating Search help:

Procedure:

1) On the selection screen, choose Search helps.

This takes you to a Hit List of available search helps. A key and short text is displayed for each search help.

2) Select the required search help, and choose .

This takes you to the Restrict Value Range dialog box. It enables you to specify value restrictions for the search help you selected.

3) Enter your information.

Choose .
