Maintain a sap Table

Hi Guys,

I have simple issue I wan to modify data in a SAP table say LFA1 but the issue is that I am not able to do that in SE16 or in SE11 as it say’s that the table maintenance is allowed with restrictions. And my question is that is there any way I can maintain the data in the standard table without using SE11 or SE16 and with out using any module pool program (is there any technique other than these).

Hi Antony,

U don't have proper authorizations to maintain the standard table.

You should never update the standard SAP tables manually, yo migt loos the data integrity between tables.

In your case you can use function VENDOR_UPDATE or transaction XK02.

Hi antony,

1. Tables like LFA1 and many others,

(for which there is no table maintenance)

cannot be modified directly.

2. One should not also,

attempt to modify/insert records in such tables, thru z programs.

3. Bcos tampering with standard sap tables, sap may stop giving support.

Antony,

If you dont have authorizations. You cant do it!.

Anyway as said by other members, do not add to standard tables, it will lead to data inconsistancy.

Hi Antony,

Plz check for maintanance view or table maintanance generator. There you can able to modify the data.

Check any transaction are avilable for that table and check for the appropriate screen to enter data.

You can also create a table maintanance generator or maintanance view (Make sure client approval required if you are in project)
