ABAP Editor: OSS 657448 - how to replace a transactioncode

Hello,

I have a problem to implement a modification recommended by OSS647448.

The navigation with the editor via modification overview fails using function "modification overview".

Now I want to implement the correction explained in OSS647448, which says that a function code has to be replaced in TA SE41in prog. SAPLS38E (status WB_WITH_TOOL_PC_MOD) .

But it fails.

I am not able to replace the existing function code ( -> Goto -> Attributes -> Function -> I see the function code to be replaced (ED_MOD_OVERVIEW), modify it, confirm, but when double clicking on the entry in the menu bar the func.code is still the same as before modifying it)

and I am not able to add a new one, because the function code is longer than the field in the screen in the menu bar where I can add the code (WB_MOD_OVERVIEW).

I am not that experienced in this area so possibly my idea how to proceed is wrong.

Not to forget: Our system is ECC 6.0!

Can anybody please help?

what u are doing is right , at the same time this change should reflect in the FUNCTION keys also then only u will get.

Hi Dirk,

This is what is there in the Note..... Please have a Look....

You can perform an advance correction as follows:

Use transaction SE24 to modify the 'Modification operation' submenu of the 'Edit' menu in the 'WB_WITH_TOOL_PC_MOD' status of the 'SAPLS38E' program by replacing the 'ED_MOD_OVERVIEW' function code with 'WB_MOD_OVERVIEW'.

From Menu Go To->Object List->Function List

here try to change it.

in function list the required function code already exists.

I need to put it on the right place in the menu bar.

I must confess again ... not so much experience..

I would like to follow your hint, but what is the corresponding class object for my prog. SAPLS38E for TA 24, so, what is the required entry to start in SE24?

Hi Dirk,

To get it on the Menubar, Check this.

Go to SE80 give the program name as :SAPls38e.

Select the GUI Status : WB_WITH_TOOL_PC_MOD.

In this GUI, Check the Function code accoding to the note and go to the menu options: Extras-> active functions in current status.

Select the modified status press Enter.

Activate the status. I hope this helps U.

Hi Dirk,

Sorry, did not see the msg completely, just searched for the note and put what is there in the note.

Delete both the existing Function Code and the text and then key in newly with the new function code and try activating, hope this works..(check the field modification is <b>ORIGINAL</b> and Function type is Blank). Sorry once again, actually in SAP Note that is what is given...

no problem!

I am learning in this area of modifying original code from SAP and most here is new to me.

But I am afraid this new hint from you won´t help me as I told before that the system does not allow me to add a function code in the menu bar here of such a length because the space for entereing the code is only 10 fields but the fuction code is 15 digts long.

I am wondering how SAP did it in TA SE41. Possibly they didn´t.

Hi,

thank you for the hint with the SE80 which moved me to the direction to my final result..

There is a nice difference to the SE41 given by SAP.

In SE80 I did the following:

- set the function code (double click) to "changed" and ENTER.

- right mouse click on the func.code in the menu bar:

In SE80 here is an option which does not exist in SE41: Function keF4 - Possible entries (beg your pardon; I translate only from german) . here I could choose the required function code.

Problem solved!
