By default, serial number have conversion routine GERNR ( you can see it in field domain ). So basically it will display converted data on data browser. You can try Extras/Change Settings, choose output without conversion exit in SE16N or Settings/User parameters, choose Include conversion exit in SE11 to see if there is any difference.

Hi Sap Gurus,

In Custom table have one field with data element GERNR(char 18) & its populating alphanumeric most of the times but some times only numeric & as per business need they are using only numeric that to its length is 16 only. So it updating data through custom program but when we check in data browser (se11, se16n..etc) its not showing any entry in table level but if I check with other field then its showing the same entry in table. I hope some problem is there only for this particular field which refers data element GERNR, that to problem only with numeric values.

so please help me with your suggestion.

Thanks in advance.

" through custom program "

Did you insure in the program that the data you put in the database table is compliant with the conversion exit of the domain associated to data element. (Usage of FM CONVERSION_EXIT_GERNR_INPUT to convert external data to required internal format) - SE16/SE16N will execute the FM if you don't check some option.

NB: If you don't have Discrete Industry solution on your system, it's actually an ALPHA conversion, so external data '123456789' is internally converted to '000000000123456789' (numeric right adjusted with zeroes leading).
