What is the meaning of ABAP/4 editor integrated with ABAP/4 data dictionary

its like a Compiler , means it will do syntax check based on the defination of the tables of Data.Dics.

Simply put ABAP Editor integrated with ABAP data dictionary means that when you click on a field/table in ABAP editor it takes you to the data definition of field/table.

It really gets to the heart of what sets ABAP apart from other languages. Its integration with the data dictionary give the programmer access to a large repository of reusable data types and objects that helps to simplify programming.

Java has nice features, too many to mention. One of them allows you to import the packages you need to perform certain functions, such as I/O. In ABAP, that is not necessary since all of the functions/classes and data types that are the equivelant of packages are part of the vast global repository that makes ABAP unique and powerful.

ABA4/4 DICTIONARY IS A METADATA WITH THE HELP OF IT ABAP EDITOR ACCES TO THE DATABASE .WITH HELP OF ABAP DICTIONARY REPORT IS ABLE TO ACCES TO THE DATABASE TABLE ,FOM WHIC THEY CAN DO THE OPERATION SUH AS INSERT,DELETE,EDIT.

hi harika,

The integration of abap editor and dictionary is one big advantage that abap has over others..in this u can have a structure developed in a seperate palce by which u can download data from ur repository in ur main memory and using dictionary structure u can manipulate the data...this makes ur process so fast and u can store ur data in dictionary it makes changes in repository once u activate...so for each repository access u need dictionary..
