Creating Match Codes

Dear All,

Please suggest me the steps and necessary settings to Created a Match Code.

I have to create a Match Code for the field Tax Number 1 in the Vendor Master.

Hi archana,

match code is nothing but a search help.

you can create one in se11 if its a report the declare like this in selection screen

p_id like zxxx-id obligatory matchcode object zmatch.

create a match code in se11

if its dialog program

then in the attributes of the field under search help give zmatch.

Hi Venki,

I need the Match code for the transaction XK01.

Here for the field Vendor if you see the Search Help, it gives you the option for Vendor by Customer, Vendors by COmpany Code etc etc.

Similarly I want one for Vendor by Tax Number 1.

The field for the same is LFA1-STCD1 Tax Number 1.

Please let me know the exact details of what is to be done in SE11. It will be of great help.

Archana,

The search help for Vendor is KRED (Search Help for Vendors (Creditors)).

First create a elementary search with LFA1 using the Vendor and Tax number.

Attach that elementary search help to the collective search help KRED. I.E. You can see lot of search helps in the included search help add ur own elemntary search help. Then press the Param. Assignment button and press enter. Activate it u will get one more tab in the vendor Search help.

IF YOU WANT SEARCH HELP BASED ON MULTIPLE THING THEN YOU HAVE TO GO FOR COLLECTIVE SEARCH HELP WHERE YOU LIST ALL YOUR ELEMENTARY SEARCH HELPS

LIKE IN HERE

VENDOR BY COMANY,VENDOR BYCUSTOMER ETC ARE ELEMENTARY SEARCH HELPS

Vendor if you see the Search Help, it gives you the option for Vendor by Customer, Vendors by COmpany Code etc etc.

THEN YOU CREATE A COLLECTIVE SEARCH HELP WHERE YOU GIVE ALL YOUR ELEMTARY SEARCH HELP.

SI IF YOU WANT TO ADD TO THIS LIKE

Vendor by Customer, Vendors by COmpany Code ,VENDOR BY TAX NUMBER1

GO TO SELL CREATA ASEARCH HELP ZTEST

GIVE SOME SHORT DESC

THEN IN SELECTION METHOD GIVE THE TABLE I.E LFA1

THEN UNDER SEARCH HELP PARAMETER

GIVE

LIFNR SELECT IMPORT EXPORT LPOS 1 SPOS 1 AND PRESS ENTER

BELOW THAT

STCD1 LPOS2 SPOS 2 AND THEN PRESS ENTER

SAVE IT.

tHEN FIND THE COLLECTIVE SEARCH FOR VENDOR FIELD AND JUST THIS TO IT.

Hi Venki,

Thanks so mush for your help offered.

I have managed to create the Elementary Search Help and also attached it to KRED.

But somehow I am not able to see any selection fields in the Search Help. I cannot select any entries, the only entry I can make on that screen is the maximum no of hits.

Even after that if I just press ENTER all values are displayed there BUT when I select any entry it does not get reflected in the screen.

I have made the following objects:-

Elementary Search Help

Selection Method (Data base view) - where I have gıven the table LFA1 and the fields LFINR and STCD1.

Please let me know if any other object need to be created to support the same and ıf there ıs any link problem.

Hi Prakash,

I have created all the mentioned objects, but I cannot make any entries in the new tab. The only entry I can make is the Maximum Number of hits.

Like for any other tab you get a selectıon screen kınd of thing to make your entries, I am not able to get that.

Please let me know if any other object needs to be created.
