What is Direct Input Job. Is it same as Background Job? or is there any difference...

Hi,

Direct Input is a type of data transfer option like BDC/Call Transaction.

Hi,

Direct Input job is not as a Background job.. It is something which SAP has already given to use. It is mainly used for data loading in BDCs and LSMws.

There are some Direc input methods which are given by sap which directly does your work. Direct input job is a SAp defined job for which you dont have to write a report or program. Yes this can be done in Background also.

Right, it is a data transfer program, it is different from a BDC/call transaction/batch input. The difference is the direct input program is a program written by SAP which directly updates the database tables for the business object that you are working with. Instead of going thru the standard SAP screens/transactions, like BDC/batch input, it does the updating directly to the DB tables.
