You can do a where-used list for the data elements attached to that field.

Or is your requirement to check if the field names are used in someother table.

In that case, it would be possible that it is attached to a different data element.

So at what level do u want to search?

Hi, I have a list of field names in a table and want to test if the field actually exists in the DD Table. What's the quickest way to test if the field name exists in the table?

Thank!

Go to SE11, and you can see that.

Programitacally, GET_COMPONENT_INFO will give you the details.

Or you can look at the DD03L in the dictionary.

Regards,

Ravi

Note- Please mark all the helpful answers

If the field does not exist the function module will raise an exception.

Regards

 Uwe
