Storage Location Authorization

Hi All

I want to give authorizatio for storage location .

today I give the authorization Per transaction

so if i want to block from user location x i need to go

all transaction and block the auth by M_MSEG_LGO object.

Does Any one know how can i give auth' per storage locatio

I am not sure if I understand your question, but here it goes. What ever roles that have the Auth-object (<b>M_MSEG_LGO</b>). Using PFCG go to auth object <b>m_mseg_lgo</b> and select only the storage location that you require. In the example below the storage location is set to *, but with PFCG you can select individual storage locations, if configure in your systems.

Hello Kobi,

If I understand correctly then you want your users to have acess to only select few storage locations and no access for the remaining ones. You cannot literally speaking block this access as such in the roles/profiles. What however u can do is to give users access only for the storage locations they need. SAP wil automaticaly block access for the storage locations for which users dont have authroizations in their roles.

As an example let us consider we have 2 storage locations X and Y and two user A and B. A needs access for X while B needs access for Y only. Create two seperate roles for both the users A and b. In one role assign value of storage location as X and in the other one as Y. Assign the role with value X to A only and the role with value Y to B only. This would block A from accessing storage location Y and vice versa.

Hi thanks for your answer.

thats what I did.

But its Block the storage location only in the role trans'

for example I gave to user A Auth' for storage Location X

in role R1 transaction Migo.

He can still make inventory movement in CO15.

What I want is to give Authrization to storage location

For all SAP Transactions.

It is Possible ?

Hi Kobi,

This is also possible but a bit complex. For the roles that you will create in future you need to take care pro actively and assign the value of storage location as per the requirement.However for the roles that are pre exisitng do one thing. Execute report RSUSR070 in SE38 and find all the roles which have the field LGORT(Storage Location) in them. Once you have the list with you you can change these roles depending on which user which be assigned those roles.

Hi Ruchit,

I have same question with Kobi. I have situation here where the client wants to restrict the storage location upon doing the Shipment (VL10E). I have restricted in authorization at object M_MSEG_LGO but still not working. And then I try restricted in authorization at object M_LPET_LGO but still not working also. I would like to know what is the Authorization Objects, to be use for restricting shipment process By Storage location.
