printing a report

Hello,

I have two questions concerning printing a report.

1) how do you control the font and the orientation of the report when you print it out. I have created a report and when I select list -> print it prints in landscape and the font is too small. I would like to possibly print in portrait and increase the font size.

2) I am writing this report for our office in France. when I code the headings for the report, do I code them in French or in english. will the language designation at logon control the translation for the report?

1) It depends on the format you choose

2) Use the text symbols of the report to do that

if you go for the print there is a button called User-Specific print parameters there you can set the parameters as you like and than you can take the printout.

looks like I have the first question answered. you mentioned

i don't understand this. is this something that is coded within the write statement of the abap pgm? is this something that is controlled outside of the pgm?

lightbulb - I think

do you mean, in SE38 for the program, click "text elements" and build heading using the "text symbols" tab. I would print the line using the line number?

Hi,

1) use spad transaction to chanher printer settings

2) use text-symbols and translate them using se63

transaction so that text is displayed in as per

logon language

Hi,

1. Generally reports are meant for showing just processed data. It is not possible to choose bigger font sizes or font categories in traditional ABAP programming. But you can print large fonts inABAP object-oriented programming.

But you will have performance problems when you are displaying large amount of data.

2. Create text-elements for all your column headings.

These can be translated to other languages using transaction SE63.
