1) what is diff b/w Master Idoc and Communication Idoc?

2) Partner profile is client dipendent or indipendent?

Master Idoc is created in Application layer and stored in memory.

After determining the receivers from distribution model, communication Idocs are created for each reciver in ALE service layer and stored in SAP database.

Partner profile is client dependent.

Hi Sudharsan

Master IDoc and Communicaiton Idoc

1 Physical IDoc is created for each partner which you can see it in WE02, we05... Master Idoc is not stored physically in the system. This is called Communication IDoc

For example: you have configured to send Mateial Master to two different logical systems. So when you create a material master, SAP will create one Master IDoc and send it to ALE layer for processing, ALE layer will do the filtering, conversions and other related processing for each partner. At this point two IDocs are created and stored in the system. This is Communication IDoc
