Maintaining Z table with enque and Deque functionality

I would like to know, does it give any message when we do the enque and deque when other user the try to update it manually?

Hi,

yes it will give the message like 'This is locked by <User anme>'

'No if the user is entering the values using SM30 and the table is locked it does not give a message.'

I have given the wrong response.I had used a lock object for the same table and then tried to use SM30 and it worked.

But if you normally lock the table , you will get a message in SM30

How the message comes into picture, when other user tried to change the sme record.

Like how to trigger this message.

while maintaining also i guess it will give the error that so and so table is locked by user

Hi,

There are associate function modules ENQUEUE/DEQUEUE.

This is get called when you are changing the rescord.

So when second person try to change the same record in the same table, it again tries to call the same function module.

Then the function module throws the exception 'Object already locked'.

I have picked this frm help...you can find out the user who has locked...

FOREIGN_LOCK: A competing lock already exists. You can find out the name of the user holding the lock by looking at system variable SY-MSGV1.</b>
