Update in Segment

Hi folks,

I need to update a custom designed segment,ie i need to extend its field length from char5 to char 8.

I tried to do that in change mode through we31 transaction, it says that you can edit in standard mode,

Moreover that version is a released version.So could anyone of you please let me know how to handle with this?

Should I cancel the release and try modifying it? is that a good practise? Or should I create a new one?

Any suggestions would be Appreciated.

YOu need the cancel the release and mody the segment, after that set release again.

If your system was upgraded to a new version after creating the segment, do not cancel the release, create a new version.

Click on add version, update the segment and set release again.
